Cool & Contemporary Shaker Kitchen

Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire

Our clients were keen to maximise the entire length of their space as the end of the room was disconnected and under used due to an archway that cut the room in two. By removing the archway, we were able to create a generous open plan space with clearly defined kitchen and living areas.

At the centre of the design sits the island - not just a preparation area, but a social hub. It provides ample room for cooking while still allowing space for casual breakfasts and for guests to gather when entertaining. The BORA X-PURE induction hob keeps the sightlines open and uncluttered, reinforcing the feeling of connection across the room.

Storage was carefully considered to make everyday life easier. The double larder, complete with integrated power, keeps small appliances organised yet accessible, while bespoke cabinetry was designed to house the client’s existing fridge freezer seamlessly within the scheme. Oak dovetailed drawers and tailored internal inserts ensure everything has its place.

Painted in Farrow & Ball’s De Nimes, the shaker cabinetry brings a calm, contemporary feel that complements the property beautifully. Caesarstone Symphony Grey worktops and knurled stainless steel handles introduce texture and refinement, while NEFF appliances, a Quooker Flex tap and a Villeroy & Boch sink deliver the performance required for everyday life.

Extending into the adjoining living area, we created a bespoke media centre and glazed display cabinetry to unify the open-plan space. Internally lit shelving provides a place for books while the media unit anchors the room for cosy evenings. The result is a kitchen that feels welcoming, purposeful and entirely personal.
